We were strolling through McGregor Square yesterday and noticed there was a bit of activity inside Tom’s Watch Bar.  We saw a manager, in uniform, checking out the outdoor patio tables.  We stopped to ask when they were opening, and received a very kind offer to join the evening’s Friends and Family event.

It was GREAT!  They cautioned us that they were still working out the kinks but if this is what a test run is like I think Denverites will be very pleased to have this on their list of options.

Here’s the scoop.

First, the service is amazing.  Our waiter and the team who kept stopping by to drop off our food and drinks and check on us were amazing. They couldn’t have been nicer or more friendly.  We were huge fans of this team.

The location can’t be beat. We sat outside at a nice table in the shade and enjoyed the great views of the plaza.  We took a peek inside and the screen setup is perfect for those wanting to watch the game.  In the heart of McGregor Square, this location is incredible.

The Drinks were great. Unfortunately we couldn’t sample the Tank beer upstairs but their selections of coctails was fun and perfect for those celebrating a night out on the town. I recommend the tequila drinks, especially the margaritas and the “Not a Paloma”.

The food was generous and tasty.  We sampled the following as a group.

  • Deep Dish Nachos with Chicken
  • Crispy Calamari (staff favorite)
  • Ahi Tuna Tower
  • Tom’s Famous Prime Rib Dip (staff favorite)
  • Nashville Hot Crispy Chicken (staff favorite)
  • Beet and Goat Cheese Salad
  • Loaded Fries with a side sauce flight
  • Smore’s Dessert (the manager recommended)

Yes, we had far to much food but they wanted us to sample all their favorites. I recommend everything the team there picked for us, especially Tom’s Famous Prime Rib Dip and the Nashville Hot Crispy Chicken. Our friend’s favorites included the Crispy Calamarai and the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad.  it was also a great treat for us to sample our fries in the side sauce flight.  As a finishing touch, even as stuffed as we were, we coudn’t resist the decadent Smore’s dessert.

What else can I say, go there and check it out before it gets too crowded.  Tom’s Watch Bar officially opens to the public tomorrow.
