Washington Park West was part of the Washington Park neighborhood until the 1970s, when the city decided to split it into two neighborhoods. The history, architecture, and ambience are largely the same in the two neighborhoods. By moving just a few blocks west of its namesake park, residents gain access to the area’s Cape Cods, bungalows, and Queen Anne Victorians at a major discount.
